Sacramento SPCA

The Sacramento SPCA is an open admission animal shelter, which means they accept animals that are surrendered to us regardless of health, age, breed or behavior. Open admission shelters play an essential role in providing care to the thousands of animals that would otherwise have no safe refuge.

Site Launch

In August 2016 we launched the new Sacramento SPCA website, and we seriously can’t stop looking at it. The local SPCA does amazing work for both our furry friends and our community, and with this new website they are truly able to shine a light on it.

What we love

  • Amazing imagery – Their photo curation is outstanding. From the adorable bunny in a bowtie showcasing the “Black & White Fur Ball” to the pup holding his leash waiting for you to take him to his first training class, they really have a talent for drawing you in to learn more.
  • Focusing on what counts – The Sacramento SPCA is all about helping their animals find a home or offering you a way to get involved. Their site really reflects this well. Options to adopt, donate, and volunteer are front and center.
  • Getting Social  - With 67k followers and a talented social media team, SSPCA has done a tremendous job of engaging their social community for years. With their recent refresh, they now have their social feed right on the homepage so you can take part in their live shelter tours or just enjoy in their witty banter and cute pet pics directly from their site.
  • Demonstrating how they’re making an impact - Aside from all the cute content, we really like how the SSPCA has chosen to share their success with the community in their 122 years of service. When you look at their homepage, you can check out the numbers at a glance and know they are an organization you can feel good about supporting.

United Way Capital Region

United Way California Capital Region is an independent local affiliate of United Way Worldwide with a local board of directors, and serve five counties: Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo. They works with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, nonprofit partners, schools, government bodies and more to improve people’s lives by working together and bringing all of our resources to the table.

Site launch

In September 2016 we helped the United Way Capital Region kick off their new Square One project with a freshly redesigned website and we are super inspired. From their bold color palette and fun imagery to their engaging messaging, they do an incredible job of bringing the community together for all the right reasons.

Here are a few of the things we love:

  • Showing their impact in the community – Right off the bat, they use their carousel to connect you with the local regions and share their stats in a meaningful way.
  • Driving people to engage – A community will only take action if you make it clear and easy to do so. United Way knows this and calls their visitors to action tactfully throughout the site. Whether you want to volunteer your time, donate to the cause, or take part in an action group, they’ve placed the options at your fingertips at just the right times.
  • Keeping things playful – With inspired photography and excellent content curation, United Way sets a playful tone that you just want to be a part of.
  • An incredible experience on any device – A major component of this redesign was the move to responsive design. With this update, their new website looks incredible on any device.

Buddhist Church

The Buddhist Church of Sacramento is a spiritual and cultural center dedicated to enriching the lives of its sangha members, and the community as a whole. The church accomplishes this by providing exposure to and sharing the teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism through dharma messages, activities and heartfelt connection.

With its new website, the church is enhancing the lives of its community by sharing dharma messages online and providing easy access to activities and events.

For those that aren’t yet a part of the sangha, the site provides an inviting presence that shares the mission of the church and creates awareness about the teachings of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism in an engaging and accessible format.
