Dennis Stevense
Lead Software Engineer
Dennis Stevense is the Lead Software Engineer for Digital Deployment, managing the ongoing development of the web system as well as adding new elements and improving the existing codebase. He has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Delft University of Technology as well as an International Baccalaureate English A2 Higher Level Diploma for near-native proficiency in English.
Dennis created one of the most popular iPhone apps for the Dutch market called “Trein.” It allows train commuters to get real-time delay and disturbance information and has tens of thousands of users in addition to winning many awards. He grew up and currently lives in Roosendaal (near the Belgian border) in the Netherlands, but has been able to travel to other countries because of his highly developed programming skills. He has been working on Drupal-based websites since high school and created a highly functional and intricate website for his high school as a senior project with a friend. It was complete with timetables, enrollments, and advanced access control.
When asked what he loves about working with Digital Deployment he mentioned, “The people and the appreciation I get. Also, I’ve always wanted to work in a small company, where I can make a real difference and have a real influence.”
Dennis considers computer programming to be a hobby as well as a skill because he finds it very satisfying to neatly solve problems like complex puzzles. He also enjoys photography because it gives him the ability to capture things he sees in the world around him and it sits nicely on the border of science and art.
